Dr. Thomas Curran is
director of Trinity Formation Resources, a non-profit ministry
dedicated to helping Catholics understand, live and share
their Catholic faith. Tom’s dynamic and humorous
speaking style make him a popular teacher and conference
speaker all across North America.
In addition, Tom offers serves Catholic
priests and ministry leaders through Formation-by-Phone
Tom has a graduate degree from the Gregorian
University in Rome and a Ph.D. in systematic theology from
Previously, Tom served as the Director
of Evangelization 2000 for North America and the Caribbean.
In that role,
he helped ministry leaders of
Catholic evangelization initiatives around the world to develop and inspire
Catholic responses to Pope John Paul II’s call for a New Evangelization
in preparation for the Great Jubilee Year 2000.
In addition, Tom:
- served as a Consultant to the National
Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Evangelization.
- wrote “Speaking of God to People
Today,” the official response of the National Conference
of Catholic Bishops to a request from the Vatican’s
Pontifical Council for Culture.
- taught in the Religion Department
at Rivier College, a Catholic college in Nashua, New
- worked for three years as the Director
of Evangelization for a Catholic parish in Manchester,
- served as a member of the Board of
Directors of the National Council for Catholic Evangelization.
Tom works extensively
with Catholic priests and ministry leaders:
- He was the first layman ever to lead
a Retreat for Priests in the Diocese of Peoria.
- He leads Formation-by-Phone sessions
for priests and ministry leaders around the country.
- He has led workshops for priests and
deacons on preaching and “making disciples.”
- He works as a Consultant to the Office
of Priest Personnel of the Archdiocese of Seattle. In
that role, he has worked one-on-one with more than a
dozen priests in an ongoing way since 1997.
Tom is in great demand as a conference
speaker at events throughout North America. He has given
more than 1,000 presentations to over 200,000 Catholics
in 30 states and 6 countries.
