The Golden Bowl of Prayer
Welcome to the Golden Bowl of Prayer, the prayer blog with a mixing of God's nourishing Word from the daily Mass and liturgy of the hours, to help feed your soul.  The Golden bowl image is inspired by the book of Revelation, where we see the prayers of the holy ones  being poured out in praise before God's heavenly throne. Kelley Masterson is the contributer, a wife, mother of four and regular host on RosaryLive.com~

wisdom vs. Wisdom (Your Kingdom is a Kingdom for all ages)
The Golden Bowl of Prayer

Lord, today I pray that I may grow closer to You through prayer, contemplation, and the Sacraments of the Church. That I may grow in Wisdom. And I am not speaking of human wisdom which comes from experience. But the Wisdom that is “taught by the Spirit” – and which gives the ability to describe “spiritual realities in spiritual terms.”   And as we grow in this Wisdom, with the mind of Christ, may we speak with the authority that drives out demons and imparts blessings from the fountain of Your Mercy and Grace.

Physician cure yourself!

Lord may I not be paralyzed by fear to labor always for your kingdom.  Free me Lord from the fear of thinking that I am not good enough, or wise enough, or witty enough, or assertive enough, or  old enough or young enough to do what you need me to do today.

For You provide what is needed to free the slaves.  And to free Your people is what you call me to do.  For to bring glad tidings to the poor and to proclaim Your blessings is my mission!  May I not become discouraged my Lord, when I hear "cure yourself first" because I know that as I seek whole heartedly to do Your will I assist in clearing the path for you to come triumphantly into their hearts...

The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

Exult, you just, in the LORD…. For upright is the word of the LORD,
and all his works are trustworthy.
He loves justice and right;
of the kindness of the LORD the earth is full.

Your Wisdom, O Lord, is unique, unparalleled. And we give thanks to You and praise You!

The Cross is the power of God”, proclaims St. Paul. And as St. Rose of Lima wrote: “[W]ithout the burden of afflictions it is impossible to reach the height of grace. […] the gifts of grace increase as the struggles increase.” … “This is the only true stairway to paradise, and without the cross they can find no road to climb to heaven.” Yes, O Lord, what great is your Wisdom, so different from that of the world and what it offers as “happiness”. In the Cross is the true happiness. What the world considers "foolishness"– humility, truthfulness, purity, mercy and compassion, honesty, etc. – is in reality what counts, what is important. Your Mercy and Compassion is the measure of your love for us: Infinite! And to that you call us so that we become true sons and daughters of God, made in His Image and Likeness.

Today, as the Church celebrates the memorial of St. Monica, we praise her loving witness and steadfastness in faith, hope, and charity. Like her, relying in Your words because you are faithful, we believe that our sufferings, prayers, and crosses united to your Cross will be our strength.

As your brides, O Lord Jesus Christ, may our spiritual motherhood to which we are called by Baptism and by which a human life is born to eternal life, bear much fruit for the Glory of God and the salvation of souls.

That we may be ready when the Lord comes, be it morning or night, let us sing with the psalmist:

R. I will praise your name for ever, Lord.
Every day will I bless you,
and I will praise your name forever and ever.
Great is the LORD and highly to be praised;
his greatness is unsearchable.
R. I will praise your name for ever, Lord.
Generation after generation praises your works
and proclaims your might.
They speak of the splendor of your glorious majesty
and tell of your wondrous works.
R. I will praise your name for ever, Lord.
They discourse of the power of your terrible deeds
and declare your greatness.
They publish the fame of your abundant goodness
and joyfully sing of your justice.
R. I will praise your name for ever, Lord. MAY TODAY, BE A JOYFULL DAY ON THE LORD FOR YOU AND THOSE AROUND YOU...

ALL GOODNESS COMES FROM YOU!
The Golden Bowl of Prayer
Written by Mirya Roach

You are the Light of the world!

You are the Way, the Truth and the Life!

In You there is fullness of Joy!

You surround us, with Your goodness oh Lord...

The earth rejoices in You and You invite us to join in the celebration!

All blessings come from You!

But our short memory, deceive us...

And we begin to think it is because of the things that we do...

NO - NO - NO!

Let me not be deceived by this thought...

For all goodness and joy, unchangeable truth and the peace that surpasses all human understanding; all these things come from You, the Source of all life!

As I meditate on these truths, I ask Lord for a humble attitude of service, that I may proclaim what you have done for me oh Lord, and in doing so be able to offer a true witness of your greatness and of your mercy.

To YOU be the Glory NOW and forever...
